Last year, we welcomed Donier Tyler into a brand new position with the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem. As the International Campus Coordinator, Donier is helping campus groups around the world to celebrate and pray for Jerusaelm on the first Sunday of every October. In 2009, Donier helped to coordinate seven student leaders across the U.S., as they gathered students together on their campuses to pray for the peace of Jerusalem!

And finally, check out these testimonies from campuses across the U.S.:
After the prayer leaders introduced the topics and prayed, the congregation prayed silently or in small groups, and there was an open mic at which people came up to pray. There were about fifty people in attendance, and it was a powerful night! The Lord was in our midst as we cried out for Jerusalem, and on top of that, the people praying were able to leave more informed, understanding in a powerful way God's passion for Jerusalem - straight from Scripture. -Daniel Perna- Wheaton College (Wheaton, Illinois) Graduate Student & Israel Experience 09' Alumnus
As peaceful and unbiased as a prayer rally is, a WSU student misinterpreted the prayer rally. He asked if Palestinians were included in the prayer and if praying for peace means that the Palestinians be stripped from the land. I told the student that the DPPJ is observed by millions of people around the globe and was created to pray for the inhabitants of Jerusalem. Obviously the Palestinians in habit Jerusalem, so they too would be included in the prayer... The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem - On Campus is an avenue for increasing the Christian understanding of Israel... Hosting the DPPJ on campus is a testament of young Christians, in my generation, who are honoring God's word by praying for the peace of Jerusalem. -Cornetta Lane- Wayne State University (Detroit, Michigan) Undergraduate Student & Israel Experience 07' Alumnae
[After a long battle with his University to host a Day of Prayer event on campus, Justin finally won- only to show-up to a room empty of students who promised to show-up on Oct. 4th. Justin's passion for God and his love for Jerusalem did not keep him silent, though he was one voice in an empty concert hall... Here is Justin's thoughts on that day.]
"Do not think that because you sit in the Kings palace that you are safe while all the other Jews perish for if you do not rescue us then a deliverer will arise from some other place and you and your fathers house will perish but Who knows that you have been called into the kingdom for such a time as this" (Esther4:13-14). I may be the only voice on campus but at least there is one voice, One voice is all it takes; sometimes one voice can cause change but on October 4th my one voice joined with many voice's all around the world to cause change concerning God's city Jerusalem. It was an honor to be apart of something that will cause the right change on behalf of God's city. -Justin Porter- Seminole State College of Florida Student
I consider the DPPJ at UNC Chapel Hill a success for many reasons. First of all, it was a very powerful time of prayer for the peace of Jerusalem. Declarations came forth from students and community leaders as we cried out for Jerusalem and her inhabitants. It was great having prayer warriors for Jerusalem from the community join with us because they have been praying for Israel for many years and understand the importance. They supported and began praying for the event a couple of weeks before October 4th. One woman is a Messianic Jew and it blessed her significantly to see Christian students coming together to pray for the Jewish people and Jerusalem’s peace. We could sense God’s presence and the breakthrough taking place. Also, there was a great turnout for the DPPJ being held for the first time on campus. Even more significantly, these students are from different campus ministries, such as Every Nation Campus Ministries, Intervarsity, All Nations, Impact, Campus Crossroads and Champions for Christ (a Christian athletes’ ministry). These were Christian student leaders who are passionately seeking God and wanting to see revival on campus. Some of these ministries they are a part are majority Korean, African American and Caucasian. It was a blessing to see students at UNC who represent different nations unify in praying for Israel... This event accomplished the DPPJ’s goals by not only praying for the peace of Jerusalem, but also raising awareness about current situations in Israel and the spread of Anti-Semitism. There were Christian student leaders who came to the on-campus DPPJ who were unaware of the threat of radical Islam to Israel, the Jewish people and even Christians. Now, these issues have been brought to the forefront of their mind by attending the DPPJ... The soil at UNC Chapel Hill is fertile as solid student leaders from diverse backgrounds and various areas of campus involvement are unifying to passionately seek God’s heart in prayer and alignment with His word. As seen from this year’s DPPJ, mobilization for the support of Israel is beginning to take place among Christian student leaders at UNC Chapel Hill. -Alisha Taber- UNC Chapel Hill Alumnae (North Carolina) & Israel Experience 09' Alumnae
Despite the empty room, I decided to push past my disappointment and press onto what I had come there to do. I spent the next hour going over the prayer points I had outlined and praying out loud for the peace of Jerusalem. Even though nobody showed up, I know that my spoken words were filled with power, speaking life over not only Jerusalem, but the NYU campus. -Lydia Noone- New York University (New York City, NY) & Israel Experience 07' Alumnae
